This summer was Abby's first experience with the Ice Cream Man and she is totally loving it. (He told us the other day that we were one of his best customers. I don't think that's something to be proud of!) The photos below are of her very first encounter (above she's a seasoned customer)

We get such a kick out of watching her choose - she picks something different almost every time, and always knows just what she wants. Now she's really getting into doing chores for cash so she'll be ready with a purse full of change the next time he comes along.

The other day I was on my way out the door and we heard the music. I didn't know where her change purse was, so I grabbed a $5 bill from my purse and gave it to her and Neil to go get a treat. It was adorable watching her wave the truck down with her bill in the air like she was hailing a taxi! Anyway, when I came home the change was on the counter and when I went to put it in my purse Abby said, "Mom, that's my money - I got it from the ice cream man." When I asked her why he gave her money she said, "for Father's Day." It was the Saturday before Father's Day and he had said "Happy Father's Day," as he handed her the change! It's only mildly funny until you know that when I was little, I stole a $20 bill from my Mom's cash stash to get a popsicle from the ice cream man. When my Mom found out about it she gave me the lecture on stealing and then asked for the change back. I was totally outraged and told her "But it's my money, the popsicle man gave it to me!"

I set up the blog to email everyone when a comment is left so that way we'll know when someone has posted. If this gets totally obnoxious let me know and I can take your email off the list.
What a funny story! Like daughter, like mother... Note to Self: Never expect to receive your change back from KT or Abby :)
Anyways once again another brilliant idea. I was just thinking the other day while I was "blogging" .... it sure would be great if the blog site would automatically alert you when a new post was up...
I know, I know... if that's what I was thinking about I really should get a life.
Can't wait to see you very soon...
